Soa drunk driver recently hit me and I have PLPD insurance and my car is totaled.How can I get money from this

During the accident, I was not hurt but my girlfriend was in the passenger side of the car and her knees hit the dashboard. He then took off until my friend stopped him and took his plates…then he turned around and came back.
