Public Liability Insurance Cover
Do Ineed public liability cover to do dog walking? if so where can I get it?

I am 15 years old and am looking to get a job. I was offered a job at a kennels, but the pay was extremely low (I got £15 for 8 hours work) and it was 7:30 – 4:30 which is too early for me. I really wanted to work with dogs without all the cleaning. So i felt dog walking was appropriate as that was part I enjoyed.
I was gonna ask my neighbours and local people if they needed a dog walker but I don’t know if I need public liability insurance.
If I do can you let me know where I can get it and how much it is going to be. Thanks :D

Doesn’t matter – you can’t make enough to AFFORD the public liability as a dog walker. That’s why they all work for cash, uninsured.

Public Liability Insurance For Double Glazing Installation

Public Liability Insurance is a type of cover that is mainly used by tradesman so that they can be covered for most eventualities that will occur throughout the work that they undertake. The insurance will cover them from any occasion where they may unwillingly cause third party property damage or third party injury to anyone whilst they were working.

For someone that works with Double Glazing they may want this type of insurance so that throughout the course of their work they will be covered for example if they were to knock over a vase or an expensive ornament when they were in the property then they would obviously have to pay for the repair or the cost of replacing it and that is where the insurance would come in. Also if they left their tools lying around and someone tripped over them then the insurance would again come in to play.

This insurance is Public Liability Insurance which is cover for what has been explained above however there are certain other policies that you can get. For example if you employ anyone then you would have to get Employers Liability Insurance which is a legally compulsory insurance and there are also things such as tools cover and own or hired in plant cover that you can add on to the Public Liability Policy.

There are three levels of cover that you can get when you take out public liability insurance, the basic is one million pounds of cover but you can also get quotes and policies at two million and five million pounds of cover. Obviously these levels are the amount that the insurance company will pay up to should there be any claims made on the insurance which is why most people will go for the one million cover on their policy unless specifically requested to go higher for a job.

For one million pounds cover then the prices can generally start from around £65 for a year’s policy however if you wanted the higher cover or any of the other things that you can add onto the insurance policy then you will of course be looking at paying a higher premium.

What Are The Benefits Of Having A Public Liability Insurance

When a consumer suffers damage or loss inside the business premises because of the carelessness of the personnel or owner, the owner will be liable for that incident; this is termed as Public Liability. Therefore, public liability insurance is a must for all businesses, small or big, to protect the public’s welfare and, indeed, those of the business.

Public liability insurance or PLI safeguards a business’s interests when a client or other third party endures an injury or other damage or loss while on the business’s site. It’s the ideal form of liability insurance for whatever company that opens up its doors to the community, retailing particularly. PLI is equal to “minimal coverage” auto liability insurance.

Public liability is part of the law of tort that centers on civil wrong. A claimant or the casualty normally sues the occupant or the owner under common law depending on the damages and / or carelessness. Claims are commonly made when clients had proved that the occupant or the owner is the one accountable for the damage or injury, accordingly they violated their obligation of care.

The duty of care is a very composite term of law, but in basic terms it is simply the standard by which one would anticipate to be treated at the same time as one is in the care of another. If we analyze this, it is as easy as being nice to everyone. Treat everyone everybody with care and you will have no problem at all, except for unstoppable accidents that no one could hinder.

After a breach of responsibility of maintenance has been made, an execution brought in a common law court would surely be made. The court would give the claimant financial compensation package based on the applicant’s losses and the injuries.

Advantages of Public Liability
PLI usually proposes the most reasonable premium to be had, and it permits you to work without being upset on whether your company will go on bankruptcy because you have to compensate for the damage or injury claims which was filed by a clientele injured in your establishment.

Drawbacks of Public Liability
PLI only covers your legal responsibility against public claims; you are still open to claims from investors, vendors, employees and even yourself, except when you avail for additional forms of insurance coverage. You may also be accountable for any operating cost exceeding your policy limits.
